| The Newark Fire Department Auxiliary was organized
over fifty years ago to assist our Fire Department. The main function is to assist the men and woman of the fire department in their line of duty. Depending on the call, we assist in providing food and drinks to the men and woman on the scene or back at the firehouse. We assist the Department on their fundraisers. Our membership is open in the Newark Fire District. We do various fund raisers during the year. We parade at field
day's around the area with our Department. We also serve at the many meetings that our Department host throughout the year such as the annual fire department inspection and the Wayne County Chiefs Meetings. Newark Fire
Department Auxiliary annual dinner meeting
Members and Honored
Guests of the Newark Fire Department Auxiliary met Saturday night May 10th
for their annual dinner meeting. President, Joslyn Henson thanked her
officers and all members for all the help they have given her, the auxiliary
and the Newark Firefighters this past year. Service pins and Certificate’s
of Achievements were presented to several members by Joslyn and Vice
President Kristy Henson. Some of the activities provided by the Auxiliary to
the Newark firefighters are providing food, and drinks to the men and woman
at the fire scene or back at the firehouse. Several fundraisers throughout
the year (selling hot dogs and drinks at the farmers market in Newark),
assisting the department on their various fundraisers during the year,
parade at field days with the fire department around the area. Serve at the
many meetings that our department hosts throughout the year such as the
annual fire department inspection and the Wayne County Chiefs Meetings.

Captain and Joslyn thanked the marchers and the three banner girls Chrissy
Austin, Ashley Dutcher, and Sarah McRobbie for their time spent at parades
this past year. 50/50 Door Prizes were given throughout the evening along
with many prizes donated by local businesses. Entertainment story telling by
Shirley Merton was enjoyed by all. Don Snow, Master of Ceremonies for the
evening recognized Katie Huebeler, Esther Ahrans and Gladys Wallace for over
fifty years of service to the auxiliary. He also recognized and thanked
Special honored guests Jeannette & Douglas Wessie, Newark Fire Chief Stephen
Prinzi, Chief Rodney Bliss their guests for their support.
